Guide to Registration as a Dental Technician or Clinical Dental Technician
To register as a Dental Technician
- Holders of prescribed dental technology degrees
or a pass in the New Zealand Dental Technician Registration Examination, need to complete application form REG001 and send to the Council with the relevant fee.
- Holders of non-prescribed dental technology degrees need to complete application form
REG002 and
return this to the Council with the relevant fee. In addition, applicants are required to
provide three professional references from referees. Form R001 should
be supplied to these referees.
- Australian registered dental technicians who wish to register under TTMRA should refer to the notes on this page.
All applicants are also required to complete a self assessment form and send this with
their application.
Overseas-trained practitioners are also required to read the New Zealand Conditions
of Practice Resource Book.
To register as a Clinical Dental Technician
- Holders of prescribed clinical dental
technology qualifications who are already registered with the Council as a dental technician in New Zealand, need to
complete application form REG003, sending this to Council with the relevant fee.
- Holders of non-prescribed clinical dental technology qualifications should complete application form
REG002, and send this to Council with the
relevant fee. In addition, applicants are required to provide three professional references
from referees. Form R001 should be supplied to these
referees.
- Australian registered clinical dental technicians wishing to register under TTMRA should refer to the notes on this page.
Overseas-trained practitioners are also required to read the New Zealand Conditions
