Compliance Monitoring
The Dental Council is responsible for ensuring oral health practitioners are competent and fit to practice. It has set standards
and guidelines for practitioners to follow. Practitioners are expected to comply with these standards. Each year 10% of
practitioners are randomly selected from each profession to complete a questionnaire as the first step in checking compliance with
the Dental Council's set standards. From this group a number of practitioners are selected and visited to confirm compliance.
