Certificate of Good Standing

If you are seeking registration or to study in another country, it is likely that you will be asked to provide evidence of your registration and good standing status in New Zealand.

The Council can issue you with a Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) which will confirm your entitlement to practise in New Zealand and your good standing status ie that there are no disciplinary, criminal or health concerns currently or previously.

It is not possible to issue a COGS if you do not hold a current Annual Practising Certificate or there is a current or pending investigation or proceeding before the Council, the Health and Disability Commissioner or the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal. A letter of standing is issued instead, which includes the reason for the non-issue of the COGS together with the recommendation that the requesting agency contact you for further information.

You can print and complete the following form and mail or fax to the Dental Council with the appropriate fee to request a Certificate of Good Standing.
