Eligibility Application for the Written Examination (NZDTREX)

If you are confident that you meet all the eligibility criteria as listed you can submit an eligibility application form to allow the Council to determine your eligibility to enrol in the written examination.

You are required to submit the following to the Council:
  • an eligibility application form DE001
  • all supporting documentation indicated on the application form
  • the examination fee (refer to the current Schedule of Fees)
The Dental Council will assess your eligibility to enrol in the written examination, and if successful you will receive an eligibility letter and an examination ID card. Confirmation of eligibility will not be issued until all the necessary documentation and payment have been received and the Dental Council is satisfied that you have met the entry requirements to the written examinations.

Applications for the assessment of eligibility for enrolment in the written examination are valid for the next available examination session only. If an applicant does not sit the first available written examination, or fails to pass the examination, they will be required to submit a new application for assessment of eligibility in order to enrol for and sit the next available written examination session.

Eligibility application closing dates

Applicants must ensure that their eligibility application form reaches the office of the Dental Council by no later than the closing dates listed on the Examinations Timetable. Late applications will not be accepted and/or considered.
